Dysport®
Move toward a natural look. Wrinkles aren’t your style and the “frozen look” isn’t either. For adults who want a natural look, there’s Dysport, a prescription injection proven to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally. It’s the lines that are minimized, not your expressions.
And because Dysport delivers the natural-looking results people want, 97% of users say they’d do it again. Additionally, Dysport is approved in 69 countries and has 25 years of clinical experience worldwide.
How does Dysport work?
One injection. Five points.
Dysport treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. Wrinkles are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions, which means they can even develop in younger adults. One injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines, leaving the rest of your face to move naturally. In other words, no frozen look, just natural-looking results. You can control your look instead of your look controlling you.
How long does Dysport last?
Forget frown lines between the eyebrows for up to 4 months.
You’ve got better things to do than think about what your frown lines look like. Most users see improvement in just 2–3 days after treatment. In just one 10- to 20-minute treatment, Dysport may help improve the look of your frown lines between the eyebrows for up to 4 months. Results of repeat treatments may be comparable to your first use. Another plus? There is minimal downtime after your treatment, which means you can get back to your day faster.
Rapid: More than half saw improvement 2-3 days after treatment.
Enduring: Efficacy may last upto 4 months.

What is the difference between Dysport and Botox?
Dysport and Botox are two kinds of botulinum toxin injections used for smoothing wrinkles and producing a more youthful, wrinkle free appearance. They are very similar to each other, and the major difference is in the potency of the trace proteins. This difference in trace proteins can produce slightly different effects. Because of this, Botox and Dysport sometimes work better or worse depending on the candidate. Both treatments are designed to soften and smooth facial lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles under the skin.
Safety and side effects
Both of these treatments are remarkably safe. Before each treatment, a doctor will check to make sure that the patient isn't in any danger. Side effects are uncommon, and usually only amount to some minor irritation and soreness. Dysport sometimes also produces a temporary rash. Dangerous side effects are rare and relatively mild, and some possible but unlikely side effects include:
- Trouble breathing, speaking and swallowing.
- Very rarely, paralysis.
Convenience
For both Botox and Dysport, treatments take place in the comfort of our office. These cosmetic treatments take very little time, and there is no hospitalization needed. You can leave directly after the treatments, and they do not interfere with work, driving, or home life even directly afterward. Dysport in particular makes it easy to get back to your normal routine faster. Follow-up injections are required to maintain the effects.
Because of the number of injections and the time it takes to complete the Botox treatment, most people agree that Dysport tends to be the more convenient of the two.
Cost
Dysport usually ends up costing less than Botox. Because Botox tends to last a little longer, it could be argued that Botox is less expensive. However, the treatments don’t show up as quickly, and they take longer to complete. Overall Dysport tends to cost less when you factor in the cost in time and the speed at which the effects show up.
Neither of these treatments is covered by insurance.
Effectiveness
Dysport effects tend to show up within a few days and last three to four months. Botox treatments usually take effect within a week and last as long as six months. The actual treatments do take longer to complete for Botox, so this can make it a more involved process.
Dysport and Botox rely on trace proteins for their effectiveness. This means that people respond to these treatments a little differently.
For one person Botox may be incredibly effective, while for another person, Dysport might work better. When you visit our office, we can help you decide which option might be best for you to try.
Treatment areas
Dysport focuses on smoothing glabellar lines, or the area that is centered between the eyebrows and covering some of the forehead and eyes, for a more youthful appearance. Botox can cover the glabellar area as well as forehead lines and crow's feet. You may not be an eligible candidate if you:
- Are pregnant.
- Have a history of botulinum toxin sensitivity.
- Have a milk allergy.
- Are over 65 or under 18.
- Are on blood thinners or muscle relaxers.
If you’d like to soften your appearance without risking the frozen look that Botox sometimes produces, you might be a good candidate for Dysport. Call one of our offices today, or use the convenient contact form on this page to get in touch with us for a FREE consultation!
